Many people will disagree, but WCW was the best brand of professional wrestling at its peak. WCW boasted some of the greatest wrestling stars of all time in the 1990s such as Goldberg, Hulk Hogan, Sting, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Diamond Dallas Page, and many more. They also had innovative matches and divisions. The cruiser weight division in WCW featured high-flying action that excited fans from all over the world. Goldberg’s impressive undefeated streak gave fans something to look forward to each and every week. WCW went to great lengths to make the fan experience as great as possible every time they put on a show.
WCW also had interesting story lines. The New World Order (NWO) plots pushed the WCW ahead of the WWF in the ratings war. Nobody ever thought that Hulk Hogan could be a bad guy, but WCW did just that. It was a genius maneuver that changed the face of professional wrestling forever. WCW was also famous for using famous people in their story lines. David Arquette briefly held the WCW championship belt. Karl Malone helped Bill Goldberg win the WCW championship. Former NFL star Kevin Greene was a regular competitor for some time in WCW. This brand of wrestling was second to none.
